About Bradley Morrison

My name is Bradley Morrison, and my primary and most important roles are husband to Marissa and daddy to Charlotte and James. My family is a true blessing in my life, and provides me with great joy and plenty of motivation to work hard in support of them.

In my professional life, I am the Middle School Band Director at the Anne M. Dorner Middle school in the Ossining Union Free School District. I previously served as Director of Culture Arts for the district for 13 years. In that capacity I supervised curriculum and instruction in the areas of Theater, Art, Music, and Dance throughout the school district. I transitioned back into the classroom to have more time for my young family, and to spend more time focused on my music making, conducting and continued theology studies.

In 2010 I founded the Youth Wind Ensemble of Westchester. To read more about my work with this award winning ensemble, click on the Conductor tab above.

I truly believe in living a life of service to others. In my own life this service manifests itself in a number of ways. Related to my professional life, I’m Past-President of the New York State Band Directors Association, and the Westchester County Arts leadership Association, and I have served on teh executive boards of the Westchester County School Music Association and the New York State Council of Administrators of Music Education. I feel these roles help to take me out of the bubble of our own school district, and connect me to the greater arts education community.

In my community, I serve on the Board of Directors for Theater O Outreach, and have served as chairperson for the Ossining Arts Project Committee of the Village of Ossining. I also spent 25 years as an active member of the Archville Volunteer Fire Co., and am an Ex-Chief of the department. There’s so much I’ve learned on the fire ground that I apply to my personal and professional life. However, more important than any of that, is the satisfaction of helping out my neighbors and my community. In our area all of the fire departments are volunteer. You may be surprised to know that 69% of all firefighters in the US are volunteers! If you’ve ever thought about doing good for your community, I strongly urge you to look into the volunteer fire service.

I’m also very active with my church, St. Ann’s in Ossining. I currently lead the music ministry for all of our English and bi-lingual masses. I’ve also helped with religious education and adult faith formation. God has greatly enriched my life and I am thankful for every day that I can serve him.
